Quiting Time

Sorry it has taken me so long to get up, but this is an official notice that I can no longer run this site. My life is hopefully taking a new turn. Mostly I am working toward getting back to school and getting the money to get there. Thank you all for your participation and comments I have thoroughly enjoyed my time as a sports reporter here in Barry County.

Game Notes:

-Game time started early at 6:48pm instead of the scheduled 7pm. Game time temp was upper 50's. 5-10mph wind out of the west.

- Purdy and McAuley seemed to stress different emphasis at the plate. The Eagles were playing very aggressive while the Warriors worked the count. Through his first 12 batters faced Derek Dailey threw 52 pitches his counter-part Rocky Spry threw only 25.

- Both coaches seemed confident in their pitching/catching staff as it appeared most of the time both staffs were calling their own pitches.

Gone

I wanted to write a brief message and apologize. I have missed about the past week because my grandfather died. More grave news, I am back today, but Friday am leaving for a week to Washington DC. After that things should be back to normal and updated. Thanks.

-Ryan Vieth, Riley's brother, is coined with a unique nickname. For his second time at the plate an Eagle fan yelled,"Let's go RV". RV not only works for Ryan, but also for brother Riley.

Game Notes:

-Temperature at game time was approximately 69 degrees. Clear skies with a 25-30mph wind blowing from the south.

-Jake Nolan's sixth inning was extremely efficient. Nolan threw only seven pitches because of some great play behind him. James Hulse singled with one out, but Steven Swillum hit a chopper down the third base line. Aaron Brooks scooped the ball up went to second on a close play and with the runner bearing down on him second baseman, Vinee McCracken, got the ball to first to complete the double play.

-The strong wind not only had an effect on fly balls, but also on breaking pitches from both pitchers. Combined the two pitchers hit three batters all on breaking balls that got caught by the wind.
